A large American company for the sale of precious metals to the investors of Gold Bullion securities (GBI) recently published the results of the survey of private investors of the USA. According to the study, more than half (63%) of respondents private investor prefer to own physical assets like gold coins or gold bars instead of non-physical assets in the form of shares and mutual funds.
But in reality, only 2% of private investors in the United States owned investment gold.
Executive Director of the GBI Steven Feldman stated that «now every private investor can buy and store physical gold as easy as shares, and that the physical gold is in absolute safety and this is a very liquid asset».
The company GBI conducted its own survey of 1,000 private investors, most of which positively spoke in favor of the ownership of physical gold, and more than half of respondents believe the gold a good investment.
Despite the positive relation to gold, it is, however, still remains uncommon asset among the private investor, and the survey confirms it. A small proportion of ownership among the investors of gold is explained by the lack of understanding about the properties and qualities of the physical gold, as well as the underestimation of the importance of gold for investment portfolio.
