Futures contracts are traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange, NYMEX, can be divided into 2 big groups: energy futures and fuel, which are traded directly on the (NYMEX) futures contracts for the supply of metals (precious and not of precious), which are traded on COMEX (Metal Exchange, division of the NYMEX).
Modern New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) is the largest in the world market trading in metals, oil products and energy resources.
Today the new York Mercantile Exchange has two divisions:

•On the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) there is trade futures contracts on the delivery of oil products and energy resources. Here also is trading platinum to palladium.
•On the COMEX (commodity exchange) trading is hold different futures for the supply of metals.
To attract traders and more small investors on the NYMEX also established a unit of trade ðàçëèâíûìè mini contracts - NYMEX MINY. In June 2000, the new York Mercantile exchange changed its status. Of the non-profit organization by the unanimous decision of the Board of Directors it was transferred into the category of a commercial organization. NYMEX has passed the procedure of public offering of shares. Shares are traded on the NYSE under the symbol NMX. Gradually there was convergence NYMEX with the Chicago Mercantile exchange (CME). For a start on the new York Mercantile Exchange introduced a system CME Globex and through it the traders from all over the world have received hour electronic access to futures on the NYMEX and COMEX. And, finally, in August 2008, NYMEX, CME Group merged in one of the exchange holding company, which today is the largest in the world.
